Can I bring my pet(s)?

Unfortunately, no, we do not allow pets. However, we highly recommend our local Wimberley Kennel ( for your furry friends. We know the owner and she's wonderful! Your pet will be only a few minutes away from your yurt. If you have a disability that requres that you bring a service animal, please give us a call to confirm your situation.

Can I bring my child? I'm happy to bring my own blow-up mattress.

No, we are an adults-only property. If you rented the RiverBluff yurts a while back and let us know in your reservation that you are bringing kids, you are "grandfathered in." Otherwise, all new reservations are for adults only. We have found that our property is best suited for a quiet, adults-only atmosphere and is not appropriate for kids. We recommend checking with 7A Ranch Resort in Wimberley for fabulous kid-friendly accomodations!

Can I book for a single night only?

This answer is . . . sometimes. We offer single night bookings as "sandwich bookings" when there's only a single night available on our calendar, sandwiched between two other longer bookings. Give us a call (512-333-2202) or email us ( if you're interested in booking a single night, and we'll see if we can't find a single night option for you on the calendar. It's rare that we have single nights on the weekends, but they do happen during week nights (Sunday - Thursday) occasionally throughout the month.

How far apart are the yurts one from another?

Our Hilltop Remote Yurts are separated by 300+ feet of woods. When hanging out in the private zone in front of the yurt (hot tub, fire pit, kitchen/bathroom, you are totally secluded from the other yurts. You can sometimes see each other from the rooftop decks, but only when you're standing up and trying to wave at your neighbor across the way. Our RiverBluff Communal Yurts are situated closer together, roughly 50 feet between each of them. They each have their own private bathroom and little yard (behind a fence), so there's a bit of privacy away from your neighbors. Otherwise, the kitchen and firepit are shared in a common space and riverfront is open to all guests at the RiverBluff yurts.

What can I do when I'm at the yurt?

The number one activity at our yurts seems to be resting and relaxing! We specialize in the art of just sitting, listening to the birds, watching for shooting stars, or napping in a hammock. For guests who like to hike, there is a nice hill country walk down our road to the low water bridge on River Road to feed the ducks and put your feet in the water. There are hiking trails around Blue Hole Park and Old Baldy in Wimberley. Many of our guests spend time at the restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries and shops around Wimberley. There's live music at Longleaf Bar, Vista Brewery, & The Devil's Backbone Tavern. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to check out many of our favorite local spots!

When do I receive details on what to expect and what to bring?

We send out an email 5-7 days before your arrival date to give you our gate code, address, a list of what to bring and what to expect. We also include a "welcome video" to help you understand how to use the AC/Heater, how to turn on the fire pit and BBQ, etc. This allows us to offer a "contactless" check in. If you like to plan ahead, send us an message at to request your "welcome email" early!

Are the yurts climate controlled?

Yes! Our yurts have a minisplit AC/Heater that keeps the space cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We have little heaters in the bathroom that help "take the edge off" the cold in the bathroom in the winter time. We have hot water in the showers.

Should I bring my own firewood?

At the Hilltop remote yurts, we don't have a firepit for burning wood. Wimberley often has a "burn ban" on, so we've opted for a gas fire pit. You can turn it off and on with the flip of the switch, and it's perfect for atmospher + s'mores! The BBQ grill is also propane and our guests do their cooking on the BBQ grill rather than the fire pit. There is a woodburning firepit at the RiverBluff down by the river's edge, but please keep in mind that much of the year has a "burn ban on" in Hays County. If you've checked the Hays County burn ban status (, you may bring wood down to the firepit at the riverfront. Alternatively, we have a large gas firepit up by the yurts which works great for s'mores and atmosphere!

Who gets access to the river?

Our RiverBluff Communcal guests staying at Ella Ger, Lola Ger and Rosa Ger have access to the Blanco River. Our riverfront has a beautiful shaded lawn with 100 feet of knee-deep river water (unless there's been a heavy rain!) It's perfect for "river sitting" with a cold beverage and a book or group of friends! The yurts are VERY high up the bluff, so no danger of flooding when the rains come. The walk up and down the river bluff is hill country steep, so come ready to hike to paradise! Our Hilltop Remote yurt guests have a hot tub/plunge pool, but no river access. The Hilltop is on a different part of our property, so you can't see the river from the hill. However . . . it's a short walk down Shade Road to CR 1492 to the low water bridge at 7A Ranch Resort. Most of the time (non-COVID), 7A offers paid parking/day passes to guests who would like to hang out at their riverfront. They have kayak and SUP rentals, deep and shallow water access.

Do you have a hot tub or plunge pool?

The Hilltop Remote Yurts have a pool that can either be a hot tub or plunge pool, depending on the season. There's a switch for jets only vs. heater + jets. The RiverBluff Communal Yurts have 2 hot tubs/plunge pools, PLUS access to the beautiful Blanco River. You can sign up for a time to take turns at the hot tubs at the RiverBluff.
